The re-prints made it on time. All the photos are framed, and need only to have the wire put in the back of each frame. I'm pretty excited and am hoping for a great turn out. We'll see how it goes. As a reminder to anyone in the Dallas area: I'm having a show at KE Cellars Winery in Rockwall, TX. Opening night is a big to do, so come out and have some wine, pizza, and cheese with me! Ask me questions! Buy a print directly from me! Or, you know, be lame (or in another state/country - I won't hold that against you).
In my normal life, I've been finding it a true joy to actually edit my photos. For the longest time, I've been of the mindset that if I didn't take it great the first time, it's not worth it. Well, I have Lightroom to see if I can't get around that. I'm still framing the pictures, and taking them how I want them, but I'm shooting in all RAW now. I'm getting pretty good pictures, but I've learned how to use Lightroom to actually make them superb. I no longer feel burdened by my camera's processing to get the images I want. It's liberating. And tons of fun. Way more fun than I was expecting it to be.
This, though, makes me feel weird. I know I'm not letting myself get lazy now, but I'm afraid it's going to make me so. I take a picture expecting to edit it later. I don't want to get into that. I'm going to have to figure out the balance of taking the shots and touching them up later to make them better. So far, so good. It's going to be a fine balance, but I think I'm going to try and keep it in mind when I'm taking pictures.
Anyways, you'll all get to see the initial fruits of my labors soon. I'm about done going through the images I want to keep from the Buddhist Center of Dallas and should be uploading them soon (like, within the next few day or two, soon).
As always, thanks for watching!

52 Week Challenge
Hello, loyal followers.
I know I've been more than sporadic and worse than flaky here lately. I've been going through some life changes and doing some soul searching. I have been getting more and more itchy to get my camera out and about and stretch out my shutter finger a bit. A friend of mine hit me up a few days ago to do a 52 week challenge. Take photos following a prompt each week to practice different aspects and to think of my photos differently each time. I find this a great way to reinvigorate myself and gives me a direction for each photo in order to stretch.
The prompts can each be found here: http://petapixel.com/2016/12/28/shoo
Scratching
I mentioned a long while ago that I was just beginning to feel the itch to take photos again. I cleaned my sensor recently and have picked up my camera and started scratching the itch.
Feels good, man.
I have missed taking photos. Hopefully, I'll make more time for it, again. Time does have a way of slipping past when you're meaning to do something. I could not wait any longer.
Let's see where my photos take me.
The Itch
It is returning! I went to a pumpkin patch the week before Halloween and took some pics. I've been thinking about my camera since then. (Also, some new pics on the way! I know! It's been so long!) I hope everyone is doing well. I'm sorry I've not been such an active member. That unmotivated feeling seems to be lifting a little every day, and even more so on days I get my camera out.
I still have quite a few pics from my storm chasing that I haven't finished up. That's my fault. Kind of part of the whole unmotivated feeling.
Anyways, just wanted to let everyone know: I'M NOT DEAD. And my uploading should resume soon. :)
Thanks for your cont
Long Time, No Chat
Hey everyone,
Sorry I've kind of disappeared. I've had quite a bit going on with my personal relationships that required a lot of attention. I have been taking photos, only much more sporadically than usual. I shall be uploading quite a few after a storm chasing trip I went on a couple of weeks ago (I'm still picking out my favorites and editing them to my liking). I shall be uploading them soon, though, as my partner is looking forward to showing them all off and I need to finish them.
I hope everyone is doing well. I've been kind of drained on photo ideas, so I'm probably going to start my wandering again as I used to do on a regular basi

I am already looking forward to seeing your pictures from the Buddhist Center, they sound great!
