It's been a while, so I thought I'd check in and say hey to everyone. So here it is: HEY, EVERYONE!
Now that that's out of the way, I hope everyone is enjoying my 365 day project so far. It's been tons of fun, even if it's been difficult to find the motivation to take shots once or twice (sorry about the feet pic, though, you should expect it again the next time it happens). I definitely feel like I've been coming out of my shell a bit, and who knew I was going to enjoy street photography so much? A few of my faves so far are (in no order, whatsoever):
I think I'm going to migrate everything to a Behance and/or another service, if only to have a less confusing portfolio layout. I want to be able to hand my business card to someone and not have to walk them through how to view my gallery. I'd rather they're able to discover my works themselves, once they're on my page. This does not mean I'm going to become inactive here. On the contrary, I like to keep my photos updated on as many social sites as possible. That includes DA.
There are a couple of snags with this decision that I must work out.
One is: which service? I love Behance's support and their site (seriously, good job Adobe), but I'm afraid that the layout isn't as intuitive as I'd like for the average user (definitely fine for when I'm going to galleries and showing them my portfolio, though). So Behance is 99% likely to happen. I'd like to find another service that's easy to use for non-technical, non-artsy folks. Something like Tumblr, but less owned by Yahoo! Does anyone have any good suggestions? (Hopefully it's clear I'm not a fan of Yahoo!, so that rules out Flickr as well.)
The other issue is just sheer volume. To make this migration, I'm going to have to go through all of my photos, locate on my HDD/download each one, and then upload it to another site. 1,123 pieces (my current number on DA) is going to take some time to view, locate, organize and upload. I'm feeling *very* motivated right now, but once I get started, this may be the biggest bridge I have to cross.
I'll be sure to update in a new journal entry links to the new profiles and sites, once they happen. Hopefully, whatever new medium I choose helps me get discovered better than my current sites.
Thanks for reading, everyone! I sincerely hope your summers (or winters, for those in the southern hemisphere) are all going very well.

52 Week Challenge
Hello, loyal followers.
I know I've been more than sporadic and worse than flaky here lately. I've been going through some life changes and doing some soul searching. I have been getting more and more itchy to get my camera out and about and stretch out my shutter finger a bit. A friend of mine hit me up a few days ago to do a 52 week challenge. Take photos following a prompt each week to practice different aspects and to think of my photos differently each time. I find this a great way to reinvigorate myself and gives me a direction for each photo in order to stretch.
The prompts can each be found here: http://petapixel.com/2016/12/28/shoo
Scratching
I mentioned a long while ago that I was just beginning to feel the itch to take photos again. I cleaned my sensor recently and have picked up my camera and started scratching the itch.
Feels good, man.
I have missed taking photos. Hopefully, I'll make more time for it, again. Time does have a way of slipping past when you're meaning to do something. I could not wait any longer.
Let's see where my photos take me.
The Itch
It is returning! I went to a pumpkin patch the week before Halloween and took some pics. I've been thinking about my camera since then. (Also, some new pics on the way! I know! It's been so long!) I hope everyone is doing well. I'm sorry I've not been such an active member. That unmotivated feeling seems to be lifting a little every day, and even more so on days I get my camera out.
I still have quite a few pics from my storm chasing that I haven't finished up. That's my fault. Kind of part of the whole unmotivated feeling.
Anyways, just wanted to let everyone know: I'M NOT DEAD. And my uploading should resume soon. :)
Thanks for your cont
Long Time, No Chat
Hey everyone,
Sorry I've kind of disappeared. I've had quite a bit going on with my personal relationships that required a lot of attention. I have been taking photos, only much more sporadically than usual. I shall be uploading quite a few after a storm chasing trip I went on a couple of weeks ago (I'm still picking out my favorites and editing them to my liking). I shall be uploading them soon, though, as my partner is looking forward to showing them all off and I need to finish them.
I hope everyone is doing well. I've been kind of drained on photo ideas, so I'm probably going to start my wandering again as I used to do on a regular basi
